Why does Ason cost more than a traditional payroll software licence?
Because Ason is more than a software licence. Traditional payroll software provides functions that payroll specialists need to operate. Ason provides the payroll logic, regulations, calculations and workflows required to actually run payroll inside your product. You are not simply licensing payroll software. You are embedding operational payroll infrastructure and payroll expertise into your platform.
How does Ason’s pricing model work?
Ason uses volume-based pricing based on the number of active employees processed each month. Your payroll volumes are aggregated across all customers on your platform, so your unit economics improve as your payroll business grows. There is no base fee for the standard Embedded Payroll Engine.
Can we start during the year?
Yes. You do not need to wait until January to start with Ason. When historical payroll periods are required for a mid-year migration, these periods can be processed retrospectively without additional payroll fees for the elapsed months.
Are corrections and retroactive payroll calculations charged separately?
No. Retroactive calculations, corrections and recalculations are part of the Payroll Engine and are not charged as separate payroll runs.
Do we need to build a complete payroll frontend before we can start?
No. Ason provides a ready-to-use React frontend template via GitHub that you can use as a starting point for your own implementation. Your team can adapt it to your product, workflows and user experience.
Do we need our own payroll expertise?
No dedicated payroll expertise is required to operate the Ason Payroll Engine. Payroll logic, regulations, calculations and dependencies are handled by Ason in the background. Your team remains responsible for your product, customer experience and integration.
